Amidst a once-in-a-100yr pandemic (covid-19) that threw a curve ball to millions across the globe, this summer’s in-person programs proved to be extra special. While our programs were local, the range of human emotions witnessed were anything but — kids, families and staff longed for in-person connections — the same connections that once were taken for granted pre-COVID (recall when folks could not be pulled away from their devices?). It was against this backdrop that a small group of kids and teens gathered to connect in-person with their close friends, and cousins to design and make and enjoy exploring each other’s unique voice while inspiring others.

It would not have been possible without our amazing team - the DESIGNX staff that believed in and enforced the safety protocols, the students that co-operated and the parents who supported them. We showed what we can do when we are in it together.
